Owned and operated by Tristan Zammicheli, T.A.Z specializes in the construction and development of new homes, extensions, design and concept builds, as well as home renovation and all aspects of carpentry.
Tristan has over 13 years of carpentry and contracting experience. Serving his apprenticeship in his native city of Melbourne, Australia, he worked under and was mentored by some of the finest carpenters and builders Australia has on offer. One such stand out being Paul Spencer, of Style Built Pty Ltm. With dreams and aspirations of always owing his own business, Tristan made sure to deeply immerse and educate himself in all of the correct and most high end methods of carpentry and construction. His apprenticeship consisted mostly of residential construction, focusing on the construction of both, new homes and the renovation and extending of high end homes throughout the city of Melbourne, Australia.
Once completing his apprenticeship, he then desired a new challenge and change of construction scenery. Which therefore led him to move into the commercial sector. Focusing on the construction and development of high end, multiple high rise apartment complexes. Leading a team of 5 journeyman carpenters and 2 apprentices. He fully embraced this new challenge and step forward in his development as both a tradesman and also a leader. After 2 years of learning and growing in this sector, Tristan once again began to feel the need for another new challenge and change of scenery.
This ultimately led to his overseas relocation to Canada. Residing in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories for 2 years, Tristan jumped head first into the Canadian construction industry and began to soak up all the knowledge he could possibly consume about the different methods required for construction. He first started once again in the residential sector, but it wasn't long until he again craved another new challenge and moved into the commercial sector once again. Constructing provincial government buildings and schools from the foundations up. Working in temperatures ranging from +35 degrees in the summer to -55 degrees in the winter. Never experiencing such cold temperatures in his lifetime, it was fair to say that his dedication was tested at times.
From Yellowknife, Tristan then relocated to the opposite end of the country and headed to Toronto, Ontario where he initially began work once again in his specialty of residential construction. Whilst increasing his knowledge on site, he also decided to take his education a step further by undertaking a diploma in Construction Project Management at George Brown College, which he successfully completed in 2015. After working for over 1 1/2 years within the city of Toronto, Tristan pursued another challenge and avenue he had always wanted to conquer: working in the industrial/mining industry of Canada. He secured himself a position in an Iron/Ore mine up on North Baffin Island, Nunavut. Located basically in the heart of the arctic circle, here he faced numerous new tests and hurdles to overcome. Challenges included working shifts of 4 weeks on/2 weeks off, sharing extremely small and very basic accommodations, working outside in temperatures as low as -65 degrees and dealing with extreme snow storms/white outs and ridiculously high wind speeds.
Finally after experiencing 6 months of what the arctic circle had to offer, Tristan returned to Toronto on a full time basis. There he finally pursued his dream of owning and operating his construction company. T.A.Z Construction Inc was born.
In his 5 years of residing within Canada, Tristan has gathered vast experience in all sectors of the Canadian construction industry. Which he uses and applies to all of his projects within Toronto.
